Solution

Frost is automatically eliminated from the evaporator of the refrigerator compartment during normal use. The defrost water drains out through a trough into a special container at the back of the appliance, over the motor compressor, where it evaporates.

Common problems and solutions

Water pooling in the drawer or fridge

This is the most common issue and is usually caused by a blocked drain hole.

It is important to periodically clean the defrost water drain hole in the middle of the refrigerator compartment channel to prevent the water overflowing and dripping onto the food inside

Cause Food or packaging pushed against the back wall can get stuck in the drain hole, causing ice to melt and pool.

Solution

  • Unplug the refrigerator for safety.
  • Locate the drain hole at the bottom of the fridge's back wall.
  • Use the drain hole cleaning device that came with your fridge to clear the blockage.
  • To prevent future blockages, place the drain hole blocker in position after cleaning to stop food from entering while allowing water to drain.
  • Avoid overfilling the fridge or pressing food directly against the back wall.

  • Empty the drawer before removing it.
  • Pull out the drawer, lift the front edge, and pull it out while lifting.
