Carbon Filters How often should you replace them
Issue
Carbon Filters How often should you replace them
Applies to
- Rangehoods
Solution
It depends on the type of carbon filter. Long Life carbon filters can be regenerated up 6 times (see manufacturer recommendation). Standard filters must be replaced when saturated.
The time of saturation of the Carbon filter varies depending on the type of cooking and the regularity of cleaning the grease filter.
Typically, they will need to be replaced or regenerated (LongLife) every 3-4 months.
Signs of Saturation:
If you notice lingering cooking odours, reduced airflow, or if the filter needs more frequent cleaning, it might be time to replace it.
Rangehood installed in recirculation mode. Ensure you have turned on the carbon filter notification.
Reset the carbon filter alarm after replacing the filter.
Don't Forget About Grease Filters:
While carbon filters absorb odours, grease filters should also be cleaned more regularly, usually every few weeks or months, depending on usage.
