Laundry is stiff or hard after washing in washing machine
Issue
- Laundry is stiff or hard after washing in washing machine
- Washing results are not satisfactory
Applies to
- Front Load Washer
- Front Load Washer Dryer
Solution
Low sudsing detergent is required for frontload washing machines to prevent oversudsing problems, unsatisfactory washing result and harm to the machine.
Do not use wrong types of detergent, such as Top Loading, Handwash detergent or Soap-Based products in your frontload washing machine. This can result in excessive suds, longer cycle time, low spin speeds, poor rinsing and overloading of the motor.
Make sure you use the right amount of detergent. Use the amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer.
Excessive detergent may cause:
- Sudsing - large amounts of foam during washing.
- Inadequate rinsing will result in detergent being left on the fibres, making them feel coarse.
- Reduced washing effect,
- Spin speed not suitable for the fabric type
Make sure that the washing machine is not overloaded – especially with heavy cotton garments such as jeans or towels which absorb a lot of water.
Select a programme/option (spin, temperature) according to the type of load and the degree of dirtiness of your garments.
Tumble-drying items such as towels can also help, as this process separates the fibres, making them softer.
